The entire first floor of the mansion (front parlor, dining rooms, guest kitchen, library, two fireplaces and wraparound porch) is the common guest area.
Guests have 24 hour access to the guest kitchen, which is kept well-stocked with complimentary cookies, juices, sodas, bottled water, gourmet hot chocolate, teas, popcorn, etc. The guest kitchen has a sink, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, fridge, cups, glasses, dishes, wine glasses and champagne flutes, ice buckets, icemaker, etc.
All guest rooms and suites have antique decor, queen beds with super-plush mattress sets (our mattresses won the all-time product award at Bon-Macys), private baths with shower and either a jetted Jacuzzi tub-for-two or antique clawfoot soaking tub, guest phone, writing desk, high speed wireless, cable TV/VCR, luxury count fine linens, custom bedding, plush robes and thick, extra-absorbent bath towels.
We regularly receive high marks for room design from both guests and local artists. Eclectic mixture of unusual antique pieces with contemporary finds, fearless use of color and textures, and a strong sense of “Feng Shui” (balance in the placement of objects) have served us well.
The rates for guest rooms and suites include full gourmet breakfasts and complimentary refreshments. The inn’s byline is “hearty breakfasts & serious coffee.” Each morning, we create a multi-course feast for our guests, starting with fresh-ground Starbucks roasted coffee, chilled juice and a fresh fruit dish.
Our menu changes daily – sample menus include buttermilk blueberry pancakes or orange croissant French toast, both of which are served with an egg-and-cheese dish and peppercrust bacon. Other popular menu items include our Mexican quiche or ham-and-swiss quiche, served with garlic potatoes, mango peach salsa and peppercrust bacon.
The 100+ year old gardens of the estate provide guests with the feeling of being tucked away in a place forgotten by time. The cargo ships anchored in the harbor below are a reminder of the world just outside your door.
